A Style Guide to Prep Your family For Newborn photos
Congrats! Your little one is on the way! Have you scheduled your newborn session yet? Whether you have a session scheduled with me or with another photographer, I hope these tips help you pick out the best outfits for your family newborn photos.
Simplicity is beauty! Try to choose colors and tones that compliment each other.
Mom
what should mom wear for newborn photos
For mom, soft neutral tones such as white, grey, pastel, and beige photograph beautifully against your baby's skin tone. My favorite place to shop for gorgeous photoshoot dresses for mom is Fhrnvi online boutique, but I also share some links to some beautiful Amazon dresses in this post too! I want you to be comfortable and feel good during your session so avoid any tight-fitting tops. A long flowy maxi dress is always cute! I also love a stylish sweater or long sleeved top over jeans. Don’t be afraid to wear your maternity pants for newborn photos, comfort and easy is key!

Pair a light colored sweater/top with light colored maternity jeans. If you are going to wear jeans for your newborn photoshoot go for maternity jeans so that you will be comfortable mama)!
Dad
a simple outfit for dad
For dad, I recommend jeans and a neutral t-shirt or a button-down shirt. Make sure you are able to roll the sleeves and leave the shirt untucked. V-neck sweaters look great over button-ups as well in the wintertime.

Baby
How to dress your baby
For baby, have a white onesie ready and anything that is important to you, that you would like photographed. A white swaddle blanket is always beautiful, but if you have any other blankets that you love please have them out. If you have any sentimental baby blankets, toys, baby clothes, or accessories, let me know and we can include them in the photos. Little rompers and newborn knotted gowns are always cute too!
